Facial Hair

Antonio has had a beard for many years now. He decided to shave it off last week and we captured the 'phases' of facial hair. It was pretty funny.

Phase One: The Beard

Phase Two: Goatee

Phase Three: Wicked Handlebars

Phase Four: My Father-In-Law 30 years ago. Seriously.

Phase Five: Clean Shaven!

He's already growing the beard back. I like it best and we all know I get what I want around here :-) What was really funny is when Rocket saw him for the first time without it. Rocket hasn't known anything other than the beard, and he didn't recognize Antonio at first. The look on his face was priceless and I wish we had captured it on camera!

Suburban Living

We live in the suburbs. It's a small town, and on the brink of some very rural areas, but we are definitely in a neighborhood. Nonetheless, three deer (a mama and two babies) have taken up residence in our backyard. They eat our apples that fall from our two large apple trees. We enjoy watching the roam around our yard, but Antonio is getting annoyed with them pooping and is threatening to call animal control. Thankfully, whenever he does, they dissappear for a few days. I think they know what he's up to. I like the deer. It's too cold for us to play outside and seeing them makes me feel like I'm living in the country (which I would like to do, in theory, but not in practicality). I get the best of both worlds!

Baby Girl

A Niece! A Niece! I'm so excited to finally announce that I have a niece! My brother, Uncle Gee, and his wife, Aunt Bee, welcomed a baby girl on September 23. Aunt Bee had a pretty quick labor (made it to the hospital with just minutes to spare), but I was so honored to be able to witness Baby Girl's entrance into this world. It was so amazing and she is a beautiful little girl. We are all so enamored and in love with her. And Aunt Bee and I are having a great time dressing her up in pink dresses and bows!

A Cousin! A Cousin!

We are SO excited to finally have a cousin on the Johnson side! Aunt Sally and Uncle Buster welcomed their first baby (an adorable little boy), on Sept. 13. We love him!

We miss Uncle Camby

The boys love their Uncle Camby. He left to attend BYU at the end of August and they have missed having him around. We are happy he's having such a great time, though.

It's Sweet to be Five!

My sweet Gambit turned 5 on September 25. I so love this kid.

I bought this birthday shirt for my new nephew to wear on his first birthday. Gambit wanted to wear it on his. The shirt is size 18 months. And the shorts are size 24 months. Yeah, that's my small kid!

The current favorite sleeping postion. I call it the 'Flying Eagle'.

He fell asleep while playing Star Wars Wii. The game was still going.

Gambit likes to pick out his own clothes. This day he had chosen, camo flip flops, camo pants, camo shirt, and a camo hat. At least he tries to match!

My Dear Gambit,

I love being your mother. I love your spunky, energetic, never stop personality. You are kind, sweet, stubborn, headstrong, loving, and hilarious all rolled into one awesome little boy. You have such an amazing imagination. I love to sit and listen to you play. You come up with the most elaborate situations for your lego men. You love to make people laugh and are so very funny. I know you will do some seriously awesome things in your life. You've already made my life so much more awesome! I love your cuddles. I love your kisses and your hugs. I love it when you snuggle into my bed at night even though you disrupt my sleep. I know you'll stop doing that someday and I'll miss it. Always know that I love you forever.

Love,

Mama

Oregon vs. Missouri State.

Antonio won some tickets in a work raffle to the University of Oregon and Missouri State football game. We decided to take Ninja and let him bring a friend with us. It was actually my first college game and it was great! We sat right next to the student section, which provided some hilarious entertainment. Oregon won 56-7.

Blackberry Face

We went up to my parent's house so we could pick blackberries and make some jam. We got quite a few, but someone got a hold of our bowl and ate everything we picked!

Eowyn

Do you ever go to the store and end up coming home with things you didn't intend to get? Well, I recently went to Safeway to get some groceries. I came home with a kitten. So here's the newest member of our family.....Eowyn.

This is Gambit reading to Eowyn about snakes. It was so cute.

This is one feline who is not thrilled about the new kitten.
