Hubba Hubba

He's so great! I love this guy! Antonio's birthday is a week from today so this post is all about him.

Where we met: We met at BYU-Idaho through some friends. I went to a girlfriends FHE group one night and he was her "brother".

Our First Date: We went out to dinner at Applebee's in Idaho Falls. When we were driving back home we decided we weren't ready to end the date so we found an inner tube, blew it up at the gas station, and we and sat on it in a park. We talked for hours that night.

How long we dated before getting married: We met (and started dating) in December of 2002 and were married in June of 2003.

How long have we been married: We are closing in on our sixth anniversary next month!

Favorite feature: Eek....that's hard. Probably his sense of humor. He's so funny and is constantly making people, especially me, laugh. He also has these gorgeous eyes. They are blue and green....seriously.

Favorite Quality: I guess sense of humor could have gone here. I also love how mellow and laid back he is. Though that is definitely not to be confused with lazy (I take care of that!).

His nickname for me: Ninee, Neeners, Neener-Knockers, Neener-Bean

His favorite color: Um. I guess I don't really know this one. Green, maybe?

His favorite sport: He's a big Blazer fan, and we love to go to games. He also likes to watch and follow the NFL. I don't know what he would say his favorite is out of those.

Who said I love you first: He did. Like 10 days after we met. It totally caught me off guard and I didn't know what to say! Though I did return the sentiment a few days later.

Our first kiss: We had our first kiss on the couch in his apartment at BYU-I. We were doing homework together, but that somehow morphed into a mini-makeout session.

Favorite couple thing to do: Every spring/summer we play on a co-ed softball team together. I love doing that with him and we have a lot of fun together. I love just hanging around the house when he's here, and watching sports with him.

His favorite music: Antonio his a big music buff so I don't know if he really has a favorite. Probably some kind of rock/alternative/screamo something.

What I admire most about him: His work ethic and his natural ability to be a good leader. He's just a people magnet and when he decides to do something, he does it well. He's not afraid of hard work and knows that to get what you most want a lot of work is usually required. He's so patient with me and fiercely loves his family.

His favorite pastimes: watching sports, playing with the boys, learning about and dabbling in stocks, lounging around with the family.

Will he read this: I think he will eventually. He checks the blog every few months.

Boats and more

We had a wonderful time on the water for this Memorial Day. We went on the boat with Antonio's family and we invited our friends, the Brammer's, along. Antonio and I both tried wakeboarding for the first time, but we didn't fare so well! I was able to get up, but I couldn't stay up. I eventually got so frustrated that I moved on. It was a beautiful day and the water wasn't too cold. I'm a weenie when it comes to cold water so I still wore my wet suit. We had a lot of fun and came back home to BBQ with the Brammer's that evening.

Our Newest Addition...

It's possible I went a bit overboard (in both price and grandeur) when picking out a swingset for the boys. It takes up more than half our backyard, but it's oh so fun! I think I was more excited about it than they were. As I was carting all the wood from the garage to the backyard, I overheard a neighbor girl say to her mom, "They're building a park back there!" Ha ha ha. We will be enjoying lots of summer fun on this bad boy. It's gigantic, so I'm not too worried about the boys getting bored. Under the slide is a little picnic table and Ninja is already excited to eat his lunches outside. Cheers to big fun and big bank accounts (which, is actually quite small and pitiful after acquiring said "fun"). Who needs to eat anyway?

Need I Say More??

Bi-Zi Farm - Spring 2009

Yesterday we went on a field trip with My Friends Preschool to Bi-Zi Farm. The boys got to go on a hayride around the farm and learn all about planting and growing food. They also got to see and touch some chicks, bunnies, feed the pygmy goats, and plant a strawberry start.

Picnic in the Park

We had some great weather a few weeks ago, so we packed up a picnic with our friends, The Brammer's, and headed off to the park for dinner and play. Okay, packing up a picnic really meant we stopped at the Chinese food deli in Safeway, but hey, it was good! It was a great way for the boys to get their energy out, and Antonio and I always love hanging out with Craig and Heather and their cute kiddos.
