Baby Girl's Blessing

We had a wonderful gathering on Dec. 26th at Nonnie and G-Pop's house for Baby Girl's blessing. She looked so beautiful dressed up and it was a special moment for all of us. We're so happy to have this happy girl in our lives!

Do you understand what I'm saying?

Another horrible tragedy that probably could have been easily prevented. A family was traveling home from a Christmas Eve party and their car was struck head on by an SUV who crossed the median. Mom and Dad were severely injured. 3 year old boy suffered minor injuries. 18 month old boy died the next day (Christmas) from a broken neck. He was forward facing in his child restraint. My heart hurts for this mother. I cannot imagine the crushing pain of losing your child. Your baby. I've been crying all morning for her. I've also been crying because I know had he been rear facing, he probably would have walked away from the accident. This is why I preach. This is why I try to make you understand that a small inconvienence can be so worth it. This is why I dedicate my time and services to help parents who want to do it right. Parents who want to keep their kids safe. Accidents happen. And you never know if its going to be you or not. So do what the boy scouts say, and Be Prepared!

This chart below gives an easy visual of the statistical benefits of rear facing. Lets say you know you're going to be in an accident on a particular day. What odds do you want to give your child to offer them the best chance at life and avoiding serious injury? Problem is, you don't know. And it could be any day that you get in the car. Yeah, I'm going to go for the 96% injury reducing rate.

December 23

We had our traditional get together with Mrs. Mom's family and put on the Christmas pagent. It gets more interesting every year as our family grows. We had lots of sheep and even a pony this year. In the midst of all the fun we were having, I didn't take many pictures so I only have a few crappy ones from my phone. We had everyone from the family there this year (including Uncle Don's dog, Shi Shi), which is always great. The boys also enjoyed Christmas storytime with G-Pop.

Christmas 2011

Uncle Buster and Aunt Sally went to California for Christmas to spend time with the "other" family. Before they left, the boys opened a few presents from them. Aunt Sally made them all some adorable scarves, and made them Sunday puzzles on popsicle sticks. Perfect! We missed them at Christmas, but enjoy having them close by all the time.

More Heart Matters...

Antonio has been seeing many doctors for follow up care after his recent 'episode' in mid-November. He had to wear a heart monitor for a month to watch for any abnormalities or uneven heart rhythyms. He had been having severe episodes of dizziness and lightheadedness that still had the doctors concerned. Eventually, they had him get an MRI and an EEG to rule out any major issues (stroke, epilepsy, or tumor). I was terrified, to say the least, and even went so far as to plan how I would take care of myself and the kids if the worst case scenario became reality (totally morbid, I know). After tests, bloodwork, and a lot of anxiety......

I am happy to report that everything was totally normal! Yay! Doctor says even though they aren't sure what happened, he doesn't think Antonio has anything to worry about health-wise. *Happy Dance*

Memories

I was going through a box of clothes for Rocket and came across this sweater. It was my brothers and he wore it more than 30 years ago. I think Rocket looks quite handsome in it!
This red dress that Baby Girl is wearing was my first Christmas dress after I was born. She looked so beautiful and it's fun to see her in my things from so long ago.
