A New Kitchen

I've been wanting to remodel the kitchen since the day we moved in. Two years later and my dream has come true! Thank you to Antonio who put in many hours of work removing cabinets, refinishing parts of damaged wood floors, moving plumbing, helping to install the new cabinets, and tiling the back splash. It sure is nice to have such a handy hubby, saved us a lot of money!

Renovation:

The Almost finished product:
We still have to grout the back splash, finish putting on all the hardware, and eventually refinish the rest of the hardwood floors and do something about the ugly light fixture.
We put in granite counters, new cabinets, and moved the peninsula to create more counter top and cabinet space. I love it!

Our last few weeks

Gambit spent a lot of time admiring his Easter egg loot. He also spends a lot of time watching PBS Kids.

Don't ever come between a boy and his trains. While hanging out at Daddy's office downtown, Rocket stared at the trains going by. He greeted each one as they pulled in and said goodbye as they left.

My Monster.

Gorgeous Baby Girl at Easter. We love having our cousins near!

Rocket has a new found fascination with pockets. He always wants to wear pants that have pockets and walks around with his hands in them. Too cute.

Gambit helped me clean out the garden boxes from last year, and we found some yummy treasures! There were a whole bunch of carrots that had grown over the winter.

Rocket likes to "help" push the cart. He refuses to actually sit in it.

A happy boy on Easter morn!

Slumber Party

Rocket got to have his first sleep over at Mammie and Papa's and he LOVED it! Look at that adorable face to wake up to in the morning.
Rocket loves Mammie's chickens and told me all about how he got to feed them. I love having our extended family so close for the boys. It's such a treat for them to have special time with their grandparents.

Mustang of the Month

Each month at Ninja's school the teachers nominate students to be in the "Mustang Club". Students must be hard-working, kind, considerate, cooperative, and have good behavior to be considered. They then choose one student of the group who has gone above and beyond in academics and behavior to be the "Mustang in the Month". Ninja has been in the Mustang Club every month since he started school here in kindergarten. (Actually, a few months ago he only got to be in for half the month because of an incident involving his puppet pretending to pee on a classmate's puppet. I may have burst out laughing when the teacher told me about it). This month Ninja was chosen to be the Mustang of the Month! He was so excited!
What Ninja's teacher said about him:
"Ninja always does good work in class and remembers not to talk when the teacher is teaching. Ninja is a great role model for the rest of his class. Great work, Ninja!"

New Kid on the Block

Gambit got to be a visiting student at Mammie's preschool and he had so much fun. This kid loves to make new friends and socializing. He also loves music. Adele and Daughtry are his current faves. Ah...a man of my own heart!

Bed Head, Nah Nu, and Monet

Rocket is 22 months old and growing up fast. I'm amazed at how much he's talking and trying so hard to keep up with his big brothers. His hair is getting a bit long, so sometimes we wake up to some interesting bedhead.

Rocket calls popcorn "Nah Nu" and asks for it all the time. Antonio got me an air popper for christmas a few years ago and we are finally putting it to good (and frequent) use. Rocket's diet staples are yogurt (which he says by clicking his tongue, so funny) and Nah Nu. See how excited he gets with the bowl in his lap?

He's also discovered the joy of coloring. I think he's got a great eye for color. He thinks the white trim in the house could use some color and has added his own artistic touch to it in several places. Magic erasers are wonderful things.
