Money Makers

When Antonio and I were on our camping trip, the boys split their time between the two Grandparent households. While at Mammie's they set up a Lemonade and Cupcake stand to sell. Crazy kids made a ton of money! It helped that there were several garage sales nearby, and Mammie told her neighbors to come over. I think I'll send them out every weekend. And make them pay me taxes :-)

Ninja is getting old enough now to understand about "work" and earning money. He loves to ask what he can do to earn a little bit and dutifully saves all of his dollars in his wallet. He's always saving for a new lego set (the kid has a million legos already) and I love watching him learn to earn the money, save the money, and how to spend it wisely. He'll be a great businessman someday.

Happy Eight, Baby Cakes

Antonio and I went camping to celebrate our 8th anniversary. We stayed in Moran State Park on Orcas Island. We had a great time, even though it was rainy and cold.

This mama deer was so cute. She and her baby came right up to our car looking for food. We threw her an apple core and she gobbled it right up.

It's amazing how quickly their own little "look" and personalities come out. I've been having fun looking through all of my boys' pictures at the same age. If you haven't figured it out by now, the top picture is Gambit, middle is Rocket, and last is Ninja.

When the sun comes out, we like to.....

Collect expired and unsafe car seats from garage sales and take them to the recycle center.

Antonio turns 30!

Antonio is no longer a man in his 20s. We had a fun birthday party for him to celebrate the big 3-0, complete with a camping themed cake and a pinata. He wasn't very thrilled about turning 30, and I don't think I made it any easier by cracking 'old man' jokes all the time :-)

Ninja and Gambit got Antonio a slip and slide for his birthday. I think so he can still channel his inner child even though he's getting old.


I got him a camel back for his many camping and hiking adventures. He thought it would make a great fanny pack.

Mariners Game

We drove up to Seattle on Memorial Day to go to a Mariners game. The weather was perfect, and all of the Mrs. Mom's family got to come, too! We had such a great time. The Mariners were playing the Orioles, so Ninja wore his T-Ball hat and cheered for the Orioles.
